The Body of Christ

29 08 2007

I am finding myself more and more frustrated with the body as it pertains to our unity. How can we can we call ourselves the body of Christ, when it seems as if we are spending more time working on our own individual things as opposed to doing all that we can do to move the “body” forward. When we did our financial seminar (which was a great success by the way - thanks Joe), There were churches that would not send people to our seminar because they already had their own, or they thought we wanted their members…. I have a word for this - STUPID. I hope we can all come together and be the “body” of Christ and begin to work with each from our strengths to make the name of Jesus famous in all the earth. Not one church can do all the work by themselves. I know that I do not have enough room in my church for all of the lost in my area, and to be honest, I would say that most Pastor’s don’t either…. Let’s come together!

WOW thats a great post!!! However I think people are like who are you and what is your church to have something and think my church isn’t teaching that. So I believe that we need to watch our approach to this unity problem, and join with who we can join with and let the rest fall in place. This issue will become when all those churches that said no the first time come later and we get bitter and tell them no. Also we need unity in our whole Christian body not just the surrounding areas, so it’s ok to have outside ministries join the call….. HOLD WAIT….. FIRST THERE HAS TO BE A CALL…….

Well, it is not that we think other churches are not teaching what we are teaching. To be honest, when God speaks and we all listen, we should actually all be preaching the same thing with an approach that is relevant to our sphere of influence. You are right in that we can not be bitter, and you are also right in that there has to be a call, but once that call is made, there must be a response. What I am finding is that when the call is made from someone who that do not think should make the call, people do not respond. hmmm, that sounds a lot like Jesus. They did not even recognize him, and thought, “who is he that he should be saying these thing”, and at his death, the recognized him!
