Guilty By Association - What Matters Most?
16 03 2008Today we finished up our "Love Affair" series by dealing with how our connections to others can often keep us away from or remove us from God. The true challenge is to separate while still remaining able to minister to the person when or if God would call you to minister to them. Many of us are guilty by association. Those around us are keeping us from obtaining all that God has for us. In order to break free you must realize who / what matters most and focus your attention there. Would you rather stay connected to the world and disconnect from God, or disconnect from the things of the world and connect to God? I am not telling you to be mean, I am not telling you not to talk to your "unsaved" friends, this is about "binding" yourself to them to the point where their actions influence you in a way that will take you away from what God has you….

hello pastor lyons! i was not there today but i usually attend every sunday. sounds like i let myself be away from a word i need to listen to. the thing is i don’t and many usually realize but don’t want to accept is the people we have to disconnect with are the people we truly love, but are hindering us. it not the next door neighbor u see around or the girl at the office. how can they affect our lives if we barely hang. i been trippin knowing it but by not changing my enviornment i FALL EVERYTIME. Also i have noticed when u try to step back and put things BACK in priority, the world or the people u associate with get very upset and emotional. NOT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT LOVE YOU OR WANT THE BEST FOR U ITS JUST 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THEY ARE SO CAUGHT UP IN SIN WITH U THEY DON’T DISTINGUISH U ARE JUST TRYING TO DO WHATS RIGHT. SOMETHING I REALIZE NO SACRAFICE NO VICTORY IS TRUE AND THAT USUALLY MEANS HURT. WHEN I WEN BACK IN SIN, IT MADE EVERYTHING HARDER LIKE THE BIBLE SAYS IT WILL BE. PEOPLE WILL FEEL LIKE U LEAVING THEM AND BETRAYED AND EVERYTHING, BUT LIKE U SAID PASTOR LYONS, WHAT WOULD I RATHER DO…. STAY CONNECTEED TOT HE WORLD AND DISCONNECTED TO GOD? THE CRAZY THING FOR ME IS MY CREW IS SAVED WE SLIPPED BACK IN DOE.
